Terms of sale
Last updated October 2, 2026
These terms apply to orders placed with Summit Memories, a Summit Software company, through summitmemories.com. By sending us a design, you agree to them.
1. Orders and proofs
Sending a design is a request, not a purchase. We review it and email you a proof. Your order is confirmed when you approve the proof and pay. We may decline any request, for example if it can't be made well or breaks these terms.
2. Prices and payment
Prices and shipping are shown in US dollars before you send your design. Applicable sales tax is shown when it applies. The price on your proof is the price you pay. Payment is due when you approve your proof.
3. Your content
You're responsible for the text, names, dates and artwork in your design, including their spelling. You confirm you own, or have permission to use, any artwork, logos or photos you upload. We won't engrave content that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or is hateful or obscene, and we may cancel such orders.
4. Materials
We work with natural and hand-finished materials. Grain, color, knots and engraving tone vary, and the finished piece may differ slightly from the on-screen preview. Sizes are accurate to within normal woodworking tolerances.
5. Shipping and returns
See Shipping and our Returns policy. All sales are final: because every item is custom-made, we don't accept returns or give refunds. The only exceptions: if what we engrave doesn't match the proof you approved, we'll redo it at no charge and honor your original purchase; and if an item arrives damaged in shipping, we'll replace it at no charge. Either must be reported within 7 days of delivery, with photos.
6. Our designs
Starting layouts, artwork and site content are provided for making your order and remain ours or our licensors'. Your finished piece is yours to keep, give and enjoy.
7. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA.
